Villas Tacos

Victor talks to his grill as if it were a woman. Maria is its name. Back in the early days of their relationship, Maria got cranky. Made cacophonies and dins while going on romantic walks all through Highland Park. The two met on the streets. The same place where Victor earned his Ph.D. During the courting process, there wasn’t a honeymoon phase. From the get-go, the two doubled down on a relationship. This was it. Their cohabitation was either going to work or its was going to work. A real burn the boats example at its finest. They used each other and knew it too. 

Maria, still to this day gets turned on by Victor like no one’s business. Inevitably has a causing a chain reaction that allures all walks of life in and around the neighborhood to see how they maintain such a passionate bond.

After every night, Maria and Victor produce love tacos, their babies. Beyond TLC or talking to the food, any one of their tacos represents their love for one another, their devotion, and their family’s history past and present. Sure, their relationship is work, but they love being together and doing what they do. This kind of inner peace and happiness is in each taco, each individualized deconstructed component of what makes them them. What keeps a family united, what keeps a community fed, what keeps a culture present, and what makes LA such a magical place.
